Steven Torhjelm Memorial Tournament

We are asking for your support as we take the 11th edition of the Drive for Thrive Golf Tournament, taking place on May 25th at the Hamptons Golf Course, to a new and powerfully personal level. The tournament now carries a new name and a renewed focus centered on hope, along with an even deeper commitment to impact as we work to build a lasting legacy for the future.

 

This year’s tournament is being coordinated by family and friends of Steven Torhjelm, whose family has been long connected to the Thrive Centre. Diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer just nine days before his passing on December 30th, 2025, Steven’s loss has deeply affected all who loved him. Through his final weeks, Steven was determined to find hope. And his family’s and friends’ determination to support the Thrive Centre through this new incarnation of the tournament is a testament to the power of this event, the impact of the programs, and the incredible village of support that surrounds this NW Calgary family. Saying that, the Torhjelm family has been extraordinarily grateful for the over $17,000 that has been donated to the Thrive Centre in lieu of flowers following Steven’s celebration of life. Moving forward, the Steven Torhjelm Memorial Tournament will continue to raise funds and awareness for the Thrive Centre.  Learn More
